According to Biz Journals, on Feb 9,2017, Norman Pattiz and Tom Webster, the Strategy Vice President at Edison Research, announced the results of a comprehensive study. The comprehend study focused on the advertising test outcomes across five different major consumer brands and product/service categories.
The study was conducted by Edison Research on PodcastOne’s behalf to determine the effectiveness of advertising the five national major brands by comparing the test results. Edison Research is a well-known research company that undertakes surveys to provide their client base with strategic information that is relevant in the Broadcasting industry.The research conducted is usually done on a face to face basis.
The study also revealed the buyer’s’ intentions to purchase goods and services. Some brands were established and well known in the market but aimed at launching new tagline messages. Other brands were less known and aimed at acquiring a larger consumer base through awareness and trial programs in the market.
The results displayed that after the advertising campaign came to an end, more than 60% of the podcast listeners could mention specific grocery brands by name. Podcast listeners were given online surveys before and after the trial of the advertising campaign. The trials ran for about 4 to 6 weeks on leading podcasts and utilized the same methodology in each trial.
